HISTORY OF EPIFANIO DELOS SANTOS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

          To trace the history of EPIFANIO DELOS SANTOS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL it is known as the 1st school of Pasay City known as Pasay Central School Located at P. Burgos St. beside the Sta Clara de Montefalco Parish church. Pasay Central School was renamed Epifanio delos Santos Elementary School after the war in September 6 1952. This is in honor of the Filipino Journalist and philanthropist. It should also be noted that the former Pasay City Mayor Wenceslaon "Peewee" Trinidad graduated in this school as EDSES before it was given a new site in Tramo St. Pasay City, with a 5, 441 sq. meters land area.

          All documents of the Pasay Central School were brought to the new site of EDSES and continued the noble goal of education. All the record and achievements of the first school of Pasay City were also brought at Epifanio Elementary School. Initially a 12-room building was constructed in 1952 followed by Marcos Pre-Fab Building with 2 classroom in 1966, through the leadership of Mrs. Bernardino, the principal. In 1967, another Pre-Fab HE Building was constructed and in 1968 and 1969, followed with another Marcos type building for shop room or Industrial Arts. Constructed under the administration of Mrs. Candida Dauis is a Bagong Lipunan Building with 3 classroom constructed in 1975. In 1980's old buildings were demolished and 4 building were constructed namely Marcos Type classrooms and ESF Convention Type with 10 classrooms in 1985, 1987, 1988 and 1989 respectively. The principals then were Miss Delia Salazar then Mrs. Norma Jaravata followed by Mrs. Corazon Domondon. An ESF Building with 8 classrooms was built in 1995 during the term of Mr. Librado Torres, the school principal. Mr. Rolando Soriano and MRs. Lilia Labaco were the principals from 1997 to 2002. In August 2004, the ESF Building was burned creating a severe classroom shortage however Mrs. Milagros Ignacio ably lead the school in this most trying times to build new buildings and she was followed by Mrs. Jensy Naniong. In 2005 up to June 2008. Ms Ma. Jessica S. Magayanes, the principal, supervised another construction of 3 storey 9 classroom building. The diggings yielded old human bones, American helmet and old china bowl which proves how rich the history of EDSES is.

          In 2008 the extension building for Home Economics was built during the first year of Mrs. Evelyn D. Deliarte managing the school, she hopes to turn it to be ideal functional Home Economics Laboratory, her field of expertise, however it was left by the contractor not fully finished. Currently there is an on going construction of an 8 educational rooms for E-lab and DCP/Computer Learning Center and administrative offices, resource centers guidance room and classrooms, the second phase will start in April 2012 for service bureaus, dental and medical center, property room, library and a place for a cultural stage and classrooms and other classrooms. All these and more to make every facilities functional for the benefit of the pupils is being undertaken as the dream school of the current principal.

          The First Alumni Homecoming was encourage by Mrs. Evelyn D. Deliarte and had the first organizational meeting and its Grand Homecoming in April 2011.
